Titleist has come up with the goods on a really fine set of irons. The Titleist AP1 do not feel like your average cast club by any stretch. I got fitted to the AP1 712 Irons to replace my old ones. With the AP1 my confidence has gone way up with all the irons.
When combined with these other latest and greatest vibration dampening, and impact enhancing technologies, it adds a lot of balance that you can actually feel when swinging the golf clubs for sale, rather than the balance you simply sense. I like a high ball flight, so these perfectly match my game. The sound is also unlike any club I've ever heard. Hitting the ball off the sweet spot makes a SNAP sound.
Titleist Brand Ambassador Ben Curtis, at the Valero Texas Open, which was the first on the PGA Tour by a player used a full set of Titleist AP1 irons including Titleist MB and AP1 712 Irons. "For me it's all about performance, what are my misses like? The AP1s are more forgiving so they give you a little more room for error." The Titleist R&D team's advanced research group has been conducting extensive sound and vibration analysis aimed at reducing the harsh lower frequency vibration that causes poor feel in irons.
Titleist, who really was a little late to the game in this department, has not only achieved that, but they have maintained the nickel tungsten box concept that rides within and underneath the cavity. Titleist presents so many great golf equipment, such as ap2 irons, ap1 irons, and the Titleist CB 712 Irons. I have a better chance of getting and keeping me there than Titleist AP2 714 Irons Steel 3-9P. Ball really feels good coming off the face of the club, similar to forge feel.
The New Tuned Feel System is a co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminum plate. This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each Titleist CB. Titleist has significantly increased the club's moment of inertia (MOI) by re-positioning tungsten weight within the heads. They help me keep the ball down with wiser performance. The ball explodes off the face with high ball speed and a penetrating ball flight.
