McIlroy was the first player to win a major with the prototype Titleist 913 driver at the PGA Championship last month. This week, he was the first player to win with the prototype 913 fairway metals. Titleist began the seeding process of the new 913F metals and 913H hybrids at The Barclays.
The 913H is built for distance and stability via low and deep weighting for all-around performance. Along with the Titleist 913HD Hybrid, Titleist made two hybrids with much new features. With the SureFit Tour weight located deep on the sole, has also been designed with progressive CG locations through the range of lofts for optimized launch and spin control to deliver proper distance and ball flight.
Dan Stone pointed out that some of the same advanced design strategies used in building the Titleist 913 D3 Driver and D2 are applied to create more distance potential and greater forgiveness with the fairways and hybrids, while making further advances in ball flight, looks, sound and feel. The adjustable hosel allows users to change the loft and lie independently to better maximize their launch conditions.
Also, the adjustability of the Titleist 913H Hybrid can mask a lot of ball-flight deficiencies, which give enough help to cover some mistakes, but don't expect miracles on mis-hits. Titleist seem to have given this range of hybrids a lot of thought in terms of the lofts and set ups as you go from 17 to 27 degrees so that if you play multiple hybrids then we feel that the various 913H lofts will complement each other very well.
The australia golf online has a new tour-inspired shape with a softer toe and a sleeker heel that promotes proper ground contact. It has an increased offset in the high-lofted models to improve appearance, playability and forgiveness. On the inside of the 117cc head, the centre of gravity moves forward as you go up the lofts to try and get the right launch and spin conditions to get the club going forward, but high enough to land properly on the green.
